Old Dominion University’s physical education and health teacher preparation plan was recognized by the Council on Specialist Preparation in Physical Education (COPPPE), an agency of the American Alliance of Overall health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance (AAHPERD) as 1 of only six colleges and universities nation-wide to pass the NASPE program accreditation below the new NASPE requirements for teacher preparation programs for the duration of the 2002-2003 academic year.
